Levent College - Model United Nations

We successfully held the first Levent MUN (Model United Nations) event, on 21-22 February with strong student participation. Throughout the event, our students represented different countries, engaged in discussions on current global issues, developed solution proposals, and demonstrated their diplomacy skills. We want to thank all our students and the organising team who contributed to Levent MUN, which supported the development of our students’ self-confidence, public speaking, and leadership skills, and we wish them continued success.

Cyprus Culture Day

Cyprus Culture Day at Levent College was celebrated with enthusiasm and a strong sense of solidarity. During the event, traditional Cypriot handicrafts were displayed and a nostalgic bicycle collection met with our students, giving them the opportunity to experience and explore these pieces from the past. Throughout the day, Cypriot music accompanied activities such as a Cyprus-themed quiz, a folk dance performance, and the traditional henna ceremony. Traditional Cypriot delicacies were also prepared and offered for sale. The proceeds from the event were donated to social aid organizations. We would like to thank everyone who contributed to making this meaningful day—celebrating our culture and the spirit of sharing—so special.

Levent Schools students delivered an unforgettable evening. While our students’ outstanding performances left a lasting mark on the event, the strong interest and support of our parents added a special value to this meaningful event.

Bi-Communal Innovation Camp

Our student, Derin Öney Şemsettin, who was part of the team that won first place at the 2025–2026 Bi-Communal Innovation Camp held in Cyprus, represented the project at an international platform in Vienna together with his teammates. We congratulate our student on his achievement and wish him continued success.

Pi-Day

During our school’s Pi Day event, students enjoyed various mathematics games and a Pi Digits Competition, which 6th-grader Can Poyraz Kıraçbedel won by memorizing 146 digits of Pi.

Levent College Crowned Champions in Table Tennis!

At the 2025–2026 Academic Year National Days School Sports and Club Activities Coordination Unit Table Tennis Secondary School Boys Final, Levent College was crowned champion. Our Student Erdinç İnçay Becomes Champion of Türkiye

Our student, Erdinç İnçay, has become the national champion in the high jump in Türkiye, achieving an impressive height of 1.90 metres. We sincerely congratulate him and his coach on this significant and commendable achievement, and we thank him for the pride he has brought to our country through his dedication, discipline and determination.

Levent Schools "Memorial Forest" Project

Levent Schools continued its Reforestation Area project this year, which aims to leave a greener world for future generations. In this project, which plays an important role in the fight against global climate change, students and teachers planted thousands of seedlings in the Mediterranean region in cooperation with the Northern Cyprus Forestry Department.

Our Secondary School Girls’ Basketball Team delivered an outstanding performance at the Semi-Final Girls’ Basketball Championship held in Niğde, winning all of their group matches and securing a place in the national finals. With this achievement, Levent College has earned its place among the top eight schools in Turkiye.

A Journey into Science in the Lab

Levent College Year 12 A Level Biology students visited the Microbiology and Genetics Laboratories at Cyprus International University, experiencing science firsthand. It was an inspiring experience for our students as they took part in hands-on laboratory work.

JA Innovation Camp

Great Success at the JA Innovation Camp! At the JA Innovation Camp, held annually in Cyprus and bringing together students from both communities, Levent College participated with 11 students. In this event, where students competed in mixed teams, our students achieved great success with their innovative and sustainable business ideas. Our Grade 10 student Derin Öney Şemsettin was a member of the team that won first place, while our Grade 12 student Ela Aksulu took part in the team that earned third place. We proudly congratulate all our students on their achievements.

A Proud National Team Call-Up

Our Year 11 student and accomplished member of our high school basketball team, Günay Akgür, has been selected for the Turkey U18 National Basketball Team. We warmly congratulate our student, who has made us immensely proud with her determination, discipline and outstanding performance on the court, and we wish her every success on her national team journey.

Over 300 students contributed to our annual Science Exhibition this year. The event, which attracted more than 2,000 visitors, once again showcased the excitement of scientific thinking, discovery, and learning.

Success at IELTS

Our students have made us truly proud with their outstanding performance in the internationally recognised IELTS (International English Language Testing System) exam. IELTS, scores between 6.0–6.5 correspond to undergraduate entry, 6.5–7.0 to postgraduate programs, and 7.5+ represent the proficiency level required by top universities. These remarkable results once again demonstrate that our students’ language proficiency meets global academic standards. We sincerely congratulate all our students on their achievements.

Through the Oktoberfest event organised by our German Department, we explored German culture firsthand. Traditional German foods and souvenirs were showcased at the event, providing our students with an enriching cultural experience.

Leventathlon

Our annual Leventathlon event was once again breathtaking. The event, which took place with the participation of our students and teachers, provided enjoyable moments, and the competition between the groups was exciting.

Our Trip to Austria and Czechia

Levent College students spent their summer vacation not just relaxing, but exploring cities that have left their mark on European history! In Prague, we experienced the captivating atmosphere of Central Europe with visits to Terezin Camp and a panoramic city tour, and Chezky Krumlov. In Germany, we embarked on a historical journey with museum and palace visits to Dresden and Vienna.

A Double Win for Our Girls' Teams

At the Gymnastics Competitions organised by the Ministry of National Education and the Gymnastics Federation, our Lower Secondary and Secondary Girls’ Teams both achieved third place, proudly representing our school. Our Lower Secondary Girls’ Team included Nisan İlkan and Fatoş Taşkol, while our Secondary Girls’ Team featured Pelin Hatipoğlu and Beren Barlasoğlu. Victory on Wheels

In the interschool competitions jointly organized by the Ministry of National Education and the Cycling Federation, our Lower Secondary School Girls' Cycling Team won second place, while our Boys' Cycling Team achieved first place. Additionally, our student Arcan Kuzhan secured first place in the Young Men’s A Category.We congratulate our students and the dedicated teacher who supported them.

Alice in Wonderland

This year, our school's Drama Club transported audiences to the magical world of Alice in Wonderland! They put on a delightful 'Alice' performance, complete with colorful costumes, impressive acting, and captivating stage design. A big congratulations to all the students and teachers involved.

Language Night's Multicultural Showcase

This year, the Language Night stage once again offered a multilingual, cultural, and creative atmosphere. The French segment featured emotional poems, the German stage presented a modern Cinderella, and the English show brought an impressive adaptation of Alice in Wonderland. Each performance was not just about a language, but a journey through culture. We thank everyone who shared this beautiful, art-filled evening with us.

Legends of Turkish Basketball at Our School

We were honored and excited to welcome one of the most iconic figures in Turkish women’s basketball, Nevriye Yılmaz, to our school. She is the captain of the national team that won the silver medal at the 2011 European Women’s Basketball Championship and the first Turkish woman to play in the WNBA. Joining us at this inspiring event were Coach Batuhan Ala, who has coached for many years in Fenerbahçe’s youth teams, and Coach Derya Dizdar, a long-time contributor to basketball in Cyprus and now the president of Daçka Şerifali Sports Club. It was a truly unforgettable experience for our students and school community to engage with such influential figures in basketball. We sincerely thank them for their invaluable presence and contributions.

The Magic of Dance Brought to the Stage at the 20th Art Night!

This year, at the 20th traditional Art Night, our students gave the audience an unforgettable evening with their magnificent performances. The shows, built upon a ballet foundation, featured various styles such as contemporary, modern ballet, acrobatic dance, and Zumba Kids. The choreographies, performed by students of all age groups, transformed into special moments where art met discipline and aesthetics. Our students, who received great applause for their dedication, talent, and self-confidence on stage, truly turned their passion for dance into a dazzling feast. National Champion Spotlight: A Remarkable High Jump Victory

At the Turkish Lower Secondary School Athletics Championships held in Denizli, our student Erdinç İnçay represented our school with an outstanding performance in the high jump event. With a jump of 178 cm, he became the national champion in his category. We sincerely congratulate our student for this meaningful achievement and thank the teachers who contributed to his success.

Lower Secondary Swimming Competitions

Our students achieved great success at the Inter-Lower Secondary Swimming Competitions organised by the Ministry of National Education and the Swimming Federation of Water Sports.Anıl Aksöz won third place in the 200m breaststroke race.Kayra Adalı placed third in both the 50m freestyle and the 200m backstroke events.Our Lower Secondary Boys’ Team — consisting of Hasan Kanlı, Kayra Adalı, Aziz Ulualp, and Anıl Aksöz — also secured third place in the 4x100m freestyle relay.Additionally, our team proudly brought home the third-place trophy in the overall points ranking in the Star Boys category.We congratulate our students and their teachers on their achievements!

At the 15th Hasan Ruso Competitions, traditionally organised by the TRNC Athletics Federation, our Junior Girls’ Athletics Team demonstrated a strong performance, earning 457 points and proudly taking second place on the podium. Our Junior Boys’ Athletics Team also delivered an impressive performance, collecting 385 points to secure third place. In addition to the team achievements, our students excelled in individual events.

Cyprus Day

Our traditional Cyprus Day event was once again a vibrant and fun-filled occasion this year. While cultural handicraft products and local delicacies took their place at the stands, the quiz competition about our country, in which our students and teachers participated together, was truly a sight to behold. In addition, we hosted some of our country's most important artists at the event. Musician Mr. Cemal Özgürsel performed local songs for us, while renowned poet Neşe Yaşın also joined the event and shared one of her poems with our students.
