International Exams
Levent College's International Exam Unit was established to guide students in participating in and preparing for internationally recognized exams. These exams hold great importance for our students' university applications, both domestically and internationally.
The unit not only provides students with detailed information about the exams but also assists them in developing successful strategies. Additionally, it offers support in analyzing and evaluating exam results. When necessary, it provides assistance to students in preparing for exams again.
Levent College is recognized as an official exam center for international exam organizations such as Pearson Edexcel and Cambridge International. This recognition allows us to conduct IGCSE and AS/A Level exams at our school in accordance with world standards.
In 2012, Levent College became a member of the European Council of International Schools (ECIS), gaining international prestige through this membership. As part of ECIS membership, an ECIS award is presented annually to one graduating student, offering our students the opportunity for international recognition.
Ket/Pet
KET (Key English Test) and PET (Preliminary English Test) are exams created by Cambridge English that assess language proficiency based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).KET corresponds to CEFR level A2 and tests students on basic everyday language skills. This exam is typically taken by our 6th-grade students.
On the other hand, PET corresponds to CEFR level B1 and measures a higher level of language proficiency. Our 7th-grade students take this exam. These exams are designed to help students define and validate their English language skills on an international platform.
Delf
DELF (Diplôme d'Études en Langue Française) and DALF (Diplôme Approfondi de Langue Française) diplomas are designed to document proficiency in the French language. These exams cover the six language proficiency levels defined by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).These levels are:
A1 and A2: Basic User B1 and B2: Independent User C1 and C2: Proficient User
Students certify their language proficiency through these exams on an international platform. The validity of these exams lasts a lifetime, which means that students can always prove their French language skills in their education and career throughout their lives.
GOETHE
Internationally recognized exams for documenting proficiency in the German language are organized by the Goethe-Institut and other organizations. These exams cover language proficiency levels from A1 to C2, as defined by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
These levels are:
A1: Beginner level A2: Elementary level B1: Intermediate level B2: Upper intermediate level C1: Advanced level C2: Mastery level
These exams provide individuals, students, professionals, and others with the opportunity to document their proficiency in the German language. These certificates assist in the formal and international recognition of one's abilities in German.
ILOWER SECONDARY
Our 8th-grade students are subjected to the ILower program, which adheres to the education standards of international schools. This program aims to prepare students for advanced-level IGCSE, AS, and A Level exams. Particularly in the fields of Mathematics and Science, students are encouraged to participate in ILower exams designed to enhance their inquiry, analysis, and interpretation skills. These exams assist students in building a strong foundation for their future academic careers.
INTERNATIONAL GENERAL CERTIFICATE OF SECONDARY EDUCATION (IGCSE)
Our 9th and 10th-grade students undergo comprehensive preparation for the Edexcel and Cambridge IGCSE exams over a two-year period. With Edexcel's recent introduction of a new system, subjects like Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Economics are now evaluated through a Modular system, with the first sessions taking place in the 9th grade. This modular exam system is structured to assess students' knowledge and skills in phases. Exams are conducted gradually, allowing students to evaluate their performance at each stage. INTERNATIONAL GENERAL CERTIFICATE OF EDUCATION ADVANCED SUBSIDIARY AND ADVANCED LEVEL (AS/A LEVEL)
The AS/A Level program is an advanced program offered by Cambridge International Examinations, aiming to provide students with in-depth subject knowledge. Our students begin this program in the 11th grade and complete their education in the 12th grade. The first year of the program, AS Level, is assessed through exams at the end of the 11th grade. A Level is completed with exams held at the end of the 12th grade. Students who successfully pass these exams are eligible to receive internationally recognized AS/A Level diplomas and certificates. ETS / TOEFL
The ETS/TOEFL exam is a prestigious test that measures students' English language proficiency and is accepted by many universities worldwide. Our students undergo an intensive preparation process in the 11th and 12th grades to successfully complete this internationally recognized exam. This exam is particularly important as an admission criterion for universities in English-speaking countries. Passing this exam enhances our students' chances of receiving education at international universities. The TOEFL preparation process covers reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills, aiming to elevate our students' language proficiency to the highest level.
SAT
The SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test) is a standardized student assessment exam required by many universities in the United States as part of their admission process. If our students aim to pursue education at universities in the United States, they undergo a special preparation process to successfully complete this exam. SAT exam preparation is based on a broad curriculum that covers mathematics, reading, and writing skills. Our school provides all the necessary support and resources for our students to achieve the best results in this exam. Within the program, the focus is on test techniques, time management, and unique question types so that our students can enter the exam day fully prepared.
