Vision and Goals
Business Studies is a multidisciplinary field that examines the principles and practices of businesses and organizations, including their structures, management, operations, and strategies, using concepts from economics, accounting, marketing, finance, and management. The primary purpose of the subject is to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of how businesses operate and can be effectively managed. The field encompasses topics such as commercial activity management, entrepreneurship, business operations, people in business, business finance, resource management, marketing, and global business issues.Business Studies is offered to students in grades 9 and 10, and coursework includes case studies. Students can choose to take the IGCSE Business Studies course in grades 9-10. There are typically around 20-30 students in IGCSE Business classes each year, and interested students can then choose the A-Level Business Studies option. In recent years, the number of students in these classes has varied from 10 to 15. Graduates with a degree in Business Studies can pursue careers in various fields, such as finance, marketing, consulting, operations management, and entrepreneurship.
Typical activities include real-world business scenarios, case studies, simulations, and other interactive exercises that challenge students to apply theoretical knowledge to practical situations.
