Vision and Goals

Physics is an important science that helps us understand the world we live in, as well as the universe it is a part of. It is also considered the foundation of the natural sciences. Many simple everyday activities such as turning on and off lights, swimming, walking, and sports, as well as more complex ones such as rocket launches, nuclear power plants, and nanotechnology, are based on the principles of physics. It is also used in many areas, including cancer treatment and renewable energy systems, leading to discoveries that change our lives. Our students learn the basic principles of physics, including mechanics, electricity, waves, energy, magnetism, astrophysics, and particle physics, using both theoretical and practical methods. As our students understand and apply the principles of physics, they become aware of the good and bad effects of science on people, society, and the environment. After learning the basic physics principles in the science classes of grades 6, 7, and 8, students can choose the IGCSE Physics program in grades 9 and 10 according to their preferences. For successful students at this level, our A-Level program is available in grades 11 and 12.

Curriculum

9th and 10th Grades

In our Physics classes, we follow the Edexcel International GCSE Physics curriculum. This curriculum is designed for students in international schools to understand fundamental physics principles, astrophysics, and mechanics while developing experimental skills over two years. Through this program, our students take the first session of the exam at the end of 9th grade and the second session at the end of 10th grade. Exam results are graded on a scale from 1 to 9. Our Physics lessons are conducted for 5 hours each week.

11th and 12th Grades

Fizik 2

The Edexcel International A level (iAL) exam, which covers learning the laws, theories, and models in physics and their practical application, is designed to be completed over two years covering 11th and 12th grades. A curriculum is followed in 11th grade that includes AS topics, while a curriculum is followed in 12th grade that includes A2 topics. Physics class is taught for a total of 8 hours per week.

Students who take Unit 1, 2, and 3 exams in 11th grade, and the Unit 4, 5, and 6 exams in 12th grade are evaluated based on their physics A Level score, which is calculated by taking the total of the 6 exams they took over the two-year period and assigning a grading score of A-U.

Resources

Our school has a fully equipped Physics laboratory where the topics covered in class are enriched through experiments, allowing our students to learn through hands-on experience and achieve lasting knowledge. In addition, our full-time laboratory technician is present during laboratory classes to provide us with more detailed support and assistance in working with our students. Our classes also utilize dozens of models that can be taken to the classroom for examination, as well as animations that help us provide visually rich teaching and make lessons more enjoyable for our students. By actively engaging in experiments in the laboratory, our students become better prepared for theoretical exams. At the end of each topic, our students are given projects related to the subject, allowing us to take advantage of student-centered learning as well.
